Hook
I feel like the creator community doesn't talk enough about the importance of B roll. I always hear people giving advice on how to grow on social media and they're always talking about, you know, learn how to talk to the camera, talk to the camera, talk to the camera. But I feel like we don't talk about the art of B roll and how really mastering B roll is what really can take you to the next level, not just talking to the camera. So for example, every time I scroll on TikTok and I see branded content, right? I will save that content in a folder so I can understand what is the content that brands are actually paying for. And I'm realizing that as I go through all of this content that is branded, that brands are paying for, it really is a combination of like talking to the camera and mastering B roll. Having quick clips, having engaging clips, being able to use the scenery around you to help tell the story of the product. I feel like those next level creators really know how to take B roll and add it to the script to create like one story. Because a video like this, if you're just talking to the camera, there's really no opportunity for brand placement. Like it's just you, me and a conversation. So videos like this are great for building connection and engagement with your audience. But if you want to work on creating content that a brand can actually see themselves in, it's really the B roll. Because the B roll is what you're going to use to feature the product. So while yes, talking to the camera just like this is very important, learning how to do product placement and get B roll and get good action shots that actually add to your story is really key for working with brands.
