Quit my job in investment banking and here are things that I wish I would have known before starting and I don't feel like I'm having a filter right now. One, people do not have a life who work in investment banking and therefore they will expect you to not have a life because you are below them and they will be upset if there's any indication of you having a life. Any materials that go through you ever should be completely error-proof and checked. It does not matter if someone else was originally in charge of creating the materials and sent it to you, you will be blamed. Three, there will be odd situations where you are providing feedback to people who are potentially above you and you need to handle that in a very delicate manner because you don't necessarily want to be nitpicked by the analysts beneath them. It's not seen as teamwork.
