If you are preparing for consulting interviews, private equity interviews, or any interview where you're going to be doing mental math, listen up. You need to be using scientific notation. Yep, I haven't done it since like third grade and trust me, brushing up on it made all the difference. It really helped me improve my math because I'll tell you one thing, it helps you keep your tens straight. You always know if you're in thousands, millions or billions. And trust me, that is incredibly important in interview settings, especially when it's stressful and you have a million things written down on your piece of paper, etcetera, etcetera. Trust me, practice using scientific notation, brush up on it, use it. It will save you and change your life.
