Investment Banking Taught Me

I went to Yale and myself and all my peers pretty much going to investment banking after college and so we have a lot of stories to commiserate together. And one story is that my friend's investment bank and an analyst essentially did like three months of training with the bank and then lateral to a different more well-known bank where he will get much more out of the experience. And this is a great lesson in terms of like putting yourself first, especially for women because only a man, you know what I mean? Would have been applying and networking at other banks after having literally just started at a bank and honestly, respect. Because they're not gonna care about you or your well-being or anything, and so you do have to put yourself first. That's how it goes. And so for women who I feel like are pressured to feel like loyalty and like commitment towards like places like this, and I feel like just innately feel like that pressure. Don't, because your peers aren't doing that. And while, you know, you want to be really cognizant of like never burning bridges and like ruining relationships and stuff like that. This is just like an example of like, don't feel bad about doing things that are the best for you. Don't feel bad about doing things that are the best for you.
