Whenever I share that my husband's from the UK and I could have moved to England but instead we decided that he was going to go through the US spouse visa process and move out here to the US, more specifically California. A lot of responses from Americans specifically is like, why wouldn't you get out of this country? Like, do you know what I would do for an opportunity to move out of the US? And finally enough, when he was telling people in the UK that I was considering moving to England, like before we decided we move here, people in England were like, why would she move here? Why wouldn't you move to California? And really it came down to two major things. Number one, weather. Number two, money. Without considering the income I get from content creation specifically, if we just looked at my career, getting the same position in the UK or something equal to it would result in a significantly lower salary. And the opposite was true for my husband. So the industry that he's in, if he got a job in that same industry in the same position in California, his salary would significantly increase. You might argue that this has to do with like cost of living, you know, what it costs way more to live in Orange County, California than it does to live in Northern England. But actually, the salary to cost of living ratio is better in California. So, I do see a lot of pros to moving to the UK, that's why it was like such a big conversation to us, namely, my stress levels in England are significantly lower than they are in California. Like I think if we moved to the UK any point, I would stop taking Lexapro because I don't think I would need to. But at the end of the day, right now our priorities are financially getting ahead and also he wanted some sunshine. And we got a lot of it out here. We've been going to the beach every single weekend and it has been so nice. Plus we've got some sunshine.
