This week I spent $5,770, not including bills. Well, I mean, I guess some of them could count as bills. Every week my husband and I get a weekly allowance of $550. $350 for food, $100 for gas, and $100 for everything else. This money goes into a joint account, so it's not like we each get $550. Whatever we don't spend rolls over into the next week, except for food. Whatever money is left in food for the week, we split between our two fun spending accounts. This week we spent $139 on gas, $225.60 on food, and then we actually didn't spend anything from our other spending category. However, we did spend $622 on getting vehicle maintenance done, and we got like oil change and tire rotation and a filter change and something about the brakes. And then we also spent $4,782 at the dentist. The money for the dentist came out of our medical sinking fund. I did have to pull a little bit out of the emergency fund to kind of make up the difference because I only had $4,500 set aside for medical stuff, and the dentist cost $200 more than that. The vehicle maintenance did come 100% out of the emergency fund. I do not have a sinking fund right now just for vehicle maintenance. Anyways, let's talk about what I actually want to talk about, aka how much money we have left in our food spending category for this week because like I said before, the money we have left gets split between our spending accounts. Our remaining balance for food this week was $124.40, which means we each get $62.20 added to our spending accounts. Overall, I think we did really well on spending this week, and I think that this upcoming week we're going to spend even less money on food. You know why? Because I want more spending money.
