Hook
I was in a long distance relationship for 12 years and now that we live together, every day I wonder like when will the novelty of not having to get on an 11 hour flight to see my significant other get old. Like when will I start taking that for granted? Just last night we were like laying on the couch watching a TV show and I was telling him like isn't it insane that we live together now. We've lived together for a couple of months. I was just once again stoked that there's no background clock counting down the days, counting down the hours from when we were going to have to be long distance again. I don't have to ration my vacation time anymore to make sure that I have enough time to like visit him. Our vacations just get to be vacations. We met on the internet when we were teenagers and we didn't get to see each other in person for the first time until I was 21. We got married three years ago and we deliberated between like am I going to move there, is he going to move here and then it took us two years, actually a little over two years to fully complete an immigration process to get someone to the other person's country. For context, I'm born and raised California, he is from England, so he is he's now in California. Everything took way longer than we expected, but ultimately my goal was to get us living in the same country before we were 30 and I turn 30 next year. Which is a little bit funny because I remember like being in my early 20s saying I don't want to be in a long distance relationship in my 30s, not in a we need to break up type of way but in a we need a timeline and a plan kind of way. But yeah, on the weekends we go to the beach, we hang out, we go to farmers markets and I feel like I do not feel the urge to time max anymore. Like when you only get a week or two with your partner every I don't know six months, the time you spend together you're like oh my gosh this needs to be like incredible, this needs to be perfect, this needs to be amazing, we need to do above and beyond stuff and now that we live together I'm like we can just have a day. We've been living together for nearly three months now and I just again I can't imagine a time where I wake up and I don't go we live together. Like I always knew it would happen but now that it's now that it's here, now that we're doing it, I'm like look what we accomplished. Can you believe it?
