The Karmelo Anthony Case is NOT a racial injustice. The black community has it wrong about the Carmelo Anthony case being racial injustice and here is why. I've been following this case since the day it happened and it was just reported that a student was killed at a high school track meet after being stabbed. This was before reports and identities of names were released. And when you look at the act itself, Carmelo was wrong. Period. Treating this as some type of racial injustice just lacks accountability and sets a precedent that you can bring a deadly weapon to school sporting events. Carmelo Anthony grew up very privileged. He had two parents in his household and he lived in a very affluent suburban neighborhood of Frisco, Texas. I myself am from suburbia in California and I was a cheerleader in high school. If someone brought a knife and stabbed another teenager at a football game or a basketball game, I would be confused, I would be scared, and that would not be normal. Carmelo stabbed and killed another teenager and he needs to be held accountable. This case is not a racial injustice and it is not about race. It's okay to support Carmelo and his journey of his life and hopes that he will be paroled in his 30s. But to treat this as some sort of racial injustice is completely unacceptable. And frankly, I am disappointed in the N double ACP for framing this as a racial injustice because when you know the facts of this case, such as I do, and when you've been following this case from day one, you know that this is not some type of racial injustice. What this really takes away from is the true racial injustice of Cyrus Melton. But that's just my opinion and you're welcome to have yours.
