Pageantry is like dating. Don't waste your prime years on a system that clearly doesn't want you. In pageantry, we only have a short amount of time to compete as women. Let's be real, most of these systems cap at age 26. So for example, if you've been in the Miss America organization for the past eight years and you age out at 28 and you've only been in the Miss America organization, you have essentially wasted all of your prime pageant years on one organization when you could have been trying out different systems that probably would have awarded you what you wanted. Of course, if you do pageant not to win a title and for other reasons, this is not for you, but if you're constantly placing first runner up, second runner up and the same organization and you're coming back year after year. I would just encourage you to try out a different system and see how you like it before you age out and there's nothing else for you to do.
