This is how I spent my almost $17,000 commission check. If you're new here, hi, I'm Melanie. I'm a real estate agent in South Florida and I share all the behind the scenes on my page, including the part everyone wants to know about, the money. The sale price for this property was $560,000. The commission for the side that I was on, which was the listing side, was 3%. So my brokerage received $16,800. From that, I had to pay my brokerage $3,024. And I had to pay my admin $413. From there, I had to pay taxes, which was $4,008. That left me with $9,353. As a real estate agent, a lot of people and honestly, some agents assume you just get to keep the top number. And that could not be further from the truth. I wish. This is not considering marketing expenses or any of that, which does come out of the top line. But I use this commission tracker to help keep me organized and help keep me prepared for when tax season comes. The link for that is linked in my bio. And make sure you follow for more real estate behind the scenes.
