The reason why you keep getting interviews but not the job, even though you and I both are more than qualified for that role, is probably because you don't know the cardinal rule of interviewing that every hiring manager knows but will never tell you. Hi, Beverly Dines. I'm a Chief Operating Officer who's been scaling operations for over a decade in multiple industries. I've literally interviewed thousands of people. But I've also been on the other side of that table interviewing. For today's hack, I'm going to give you a cheat code that not only pivot into multiple industry, that I've interviewed that has successfully done this offer at the end. Companies are clubs, companies are clubs. Here's what most candidates do not understand. Because these tips are often guy kept. You would not be sitting in if the hiring team did not think you could do the job. Your resume cleared that bar. However, so many at every stage of the interview process spend the majority of the time convincing the hiring team that they are the best person for the role, instead of understanding that you are being assessed on alignment and culture in conjunction with your skills. So here's what you're gonna do. Your entire goal for the first three questions of moving forward at any stage of the process is to confirm alignment. Who walks in already knowing the strategic priorities they've researched, they know the values, they can speak sound like somebody who's already in the club. Here's an example. The most common first questions asked in an interview process: "Why Are You Interested In This Role?" Interested in this role? Something like, I saw your posting and I went to the opportunity to work here. Or I was I saw the posting. This is exactly what I wanna be doing. The answer is not about you. You right now. Hear that you see them. Use my framework the next time you're in an interview. The Three C's! Three C's. Connect, context and confirm. Connect is where them that you are well researched. Connect! Following your work for quite some time and what really excited me was the CEO's recent announcement going to be a reinvestment in productivity metrics to efficiency. Context is next. Context! After reading the and seeing your most recent partnership announcement, I saw that your new partner is in the industry the last 10 years building productivity metrics and KPIs and at scale by using the context to your expertise, you've now communicated that you understand the business needs of the organization to the forward trajectory of the business. Confirm the alignment!! Confirm is last. Confirm! My priority is to go deeper, not necessarily wider, on my continued set in productivity optimization. So I'm really excited to partner with an organization that has an investment in these systems. Alignment, and the alignment is what gets you the job. Connect. Context. Connect. Context. Confirm.
