They offered a $40k signing bonus... but it comes with a catch

Before we wrap up, I wanna go over the compensation package so you have a full offer looks like. Hoping for $100k+ Okay. The base salary for this role would be 110,000. And in addition, we're offering a 40,000 signing bonus to support your transition. Wtf Oh, wow. Um, and just to be clear, you said 40,000? 40? Yeah. Yeah, that's correct. Given how competitive the market is right now, we found that offering strong upfront incentive helps candidates make the move. Yeah, I mean, I definitely wasn't like, that is a very significant number. I think I just kinda wanna know what that's tied to, uh, because I feel like usually bonuses come with, you know, some sort of condition. Yeah, that is a fair question. There is a one year clawback period, so if you leave, you would be expected to return a prorated portion of the bonus. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Um, I think just for me, I really wanna be intentional about my decision overall. Um, I actually do have other offers from Auto applying on Sprout. My holy grail 🙏 So I think at this point, I just really wanna compare both options and make sure that I'm fit long term. Yep, of course. Although I will say this is one of the more, uh, competitive packages that we're offering, and we're really looking for someone who's ready to commit and take advantage of that.
