the world is a rich man's heaven and heaven is the poor man's heaven the world is a rich man's heaven and heaven is the poor man's heaven that's the line my latest subject piece is built around and i want to tell you what that sentence is actually doing I recently talked about this in my substack called is it religion or is it the oldest con in history the rich man's heaven is here on earth the freedom from material fear that most people will never touch some people have that right now in this life heaven the afterlife the reward that comes later that's the poor man's heaven something he is promised some place after and elsewhere someone built an arrangement where one group gets everything now and another group is told to wait and be patient my argument isn't against believing in something greater I do believe in a higher force but the piece is about the institution that was born instead because the most effective form of control isn't force it's convincing people to control themselves suffering has a purpose and patience is a virtue the reward is coming just not here deferred justice isn't justice and it's just a placeholder and someone decided a long time ago that that placeholder was just enough and look I'm not telling you what to believe or who to believe I'm asking you to question where that belief came from and who across centuries has benefited from you accepting it without asking the full piece is on my substack
