on decolonial feminism some women get to be liberated because other women do the work nobody wants to do and in feminism the mainstream version nobody wants to talk about this I just finished a decolonial feminism because I wanted feminism that wasn't only about white women if you think about who actually clean the offices the hospitals the homes that you walk into it's women of colour mostly underpaid treated as disposable doing work that gets called degrading it's a structure that runs straight back to slavery so when feminism sells liberation as women getting better jobs more boardrooms more corner offices the question that never get asked is who got left behind to make that possible somebody is always doing the grunt work it's just that we have not decided to look at that person and the author ties the whole thing together France religion capitalism the way saving women was baked into the colonial project from the start get the women and the rest will follow if you've ever felt like feminism wasn't really built with you in mind I would definitely recommend for you to read this one
