Mississippi officer put on leave after killing baby in car outside Walmart
On June 14, police
in Mississippi responded to
a shoplifting call at Walmart.
The alleged stolen item
was a box of
diapers.
Authorities say that two
women tried to get
away, one of which
was Kohen's mother, who
also said when she
saw law enforcement, she
held up her child,
and the officer discharged
their weapon anyway.
His mother has not been
charged or arrested
and the officer is
on administrative leave.
The protests matter, but
corporations do not respond
to moral conviction.
Baby, they move from
financial pain.
We saw that during
COVID, the Montgomery bus
boycott.
We see that with
Target.
Walmart called this situation
said.
That is not accountability.
That is a press release.
So black entrepreneurial people,
it's time to get
in the street as
producers and consumers.
We need to buy
wholesale, sell retail, the
necessities that we need.
DO IT IN
BLACK
COMMUNITIES
Whether you have to
sell out a tent,
whether you have to
sell out of a
trunk, whether you need
to do lashes in
the front seat of
your car, whether you
need to do manis
and pedis in the
back seat of your
car. That's for the
producer.
For the consumer, you
need to be flexible.
Maybe you need to
drive the extra five
miles to go to
that black owned business.
Maybe you need to
wait the extra five
to seven days for
that product to arrive
from the black owned
business.
Maybe you need to
give them a little
bit of grace because
you know that a
black entrepreneur just work
nine to five, and
then they build their
business after 6PM, so
they can't be available
24/7 like in
Amazon.
And, baby, it's that
serious.
