People always ask me... after 10 years of deep cleaning homes "What's the hardest house you've ever cleaned?" "What's the hardest house you've ever cleaned?" It's not the ones with moldy bathrooms It's not the ones full of post construction dust Not even the ones packed with clutter! The hardest homes we clean are usually... luxury homes! Now, before anyone gets upset.... I'm not saying luxury homes are dirtier In fact... Most of them actually look... cleaner! They usually have less clutter or open space... better organization... and they are often maintained more regularly! BUT! They are harder to clean because they have more details... more high end finishes... more intricate surfaces... more custom materials! Take a bathroom floor of this 15 million dollar home I once cleaned it's not just one simple tile... it's tiny tiles different designs... and grout lines everywhere! and every little grout line it's another place dirt can hide! Then you have chandeliers Luxury homes all have at least one! A chandelier isn't just something you quickly dust It has multiple components You have to get up high to reach it Carefully disassemble parts of it clean each piece... and put everything back properly! Same thing with handrails An average handrail might be one smooth piece of wood but luxury handrails are different In this 6 million dollar home the handrail was carved wood! That means more grooves... more edges... more curves... and more tiny places for dust to sit! SO! We have to be more careful and take our time to make it... PRISTINE! and then there is all the marble! Most luxury homes have at least one marble shower Beautiful? Easy to clean? Absolutely not! The wrong product can damage the finish! SO! We have to use steam... natural cleaners... to clean it safely without ruining the stone! and to top all of that... luxury homes are usually bigger! more rooms... more bathrooms more surfaces more fixtures SO! Luxury homes may not look the dirtiest from a distance They are usually the most detailed! and the more details a home has the more time and effort it will take to clean!
