This is a Mazda RX7 with the stock two-rotor engine. And if you know anything about rotary engines, you know they inherently run extremely hot. So today is day one of trying to get this thing to run a little bit cooler to make me feel a little bit better. And one of my favorite things that I put in all of my older BMWs is Red Line Water Wetter. It's advertised as a super coolant that's supposed to help control overheating. So this should help reduce the temperatures by about 10 degrees based on my calculations. So I've let the car cool overnight. We're going to pop open the coolant reservoir. I'm going to take out a little bit of this coolant because it's right at the top and put this whole bottle in. Now, because I'm a good guy, I'm not going to leave you guys hanging on a part two. So let's go drive this thing and see if it made a difference. This would be the moment of truth. We are almost at operating temp. It seems to be staying around 90 degrees Celsius. So essentially at idle, I'm actually pulling the same amount of temperature as before, right around 100 degrees Celsius, just because that's when the fans kick on, so it's always going to get to that heat when you're idling. But the biggest difference is when I'm cruising. It seems to hold around 92 degrees Celsius, effectively lowering the temperature by 10 degrees Celsius exactly as expected. But we're not stopping there. We're going to get it to run even cooler and even more efficiently. Stay tuned for part two.
