The RX7 is famous for the rotary engine. And that rotary engine is famous for its distinct sound. Some people hate it, some people love it. Today, you guys decide. Now, it's worth noting that this engine is basically completely stock. Just a mild intake and a fat ass exhaust. The rotary engine's iconic sound comes from its unique design which lacks traditional pistons like a normal four-stroke engine. Instead of moving up and down, the rotary spins continuously in a circle. It's shaped like a triangle. It's bizarre. But it produces a smooth exhaust note that raises in pitch as the RPMs go up. And because all three faces of that rotor complete a power cycle per rotation, the exhaust notes actually overlap. And all of that creates this. Is it unique? Yes, absolutely. But that does not mean it sounds good. I could probably name 10 cars on the top of my head that sound much better. You guys let me know in the comments.
