The Amex Gold earns 4x on groceries and restaurants worldwide, 3x on flights, 5x on Amex travel and 2x on Amex car rentals and Amex cruises. And they both have a fair share of built-in travel protection. For the sign-up bonus, Chase is giving 75,000 to 100,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.
