If you want to actually build a personal brand, you need to get dressed up every single day, do your makeup, do your skin care and present well on camera. I said this in a video recently and people are up in arms. Like, why is it so difficult to put yourself together when you're on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, any online platform. If you're actually serious about building a personal brand, then you will take the time to do whatever it takes. If you just want to go viral, that's a whole other topic. And I'm sharing this advice as a publicist who's worked in the industry for over 20 years of high profile brands, individuals and celebrities. Why do you think that talent, high profile influencers, high profile celebrities, CEOs like Emma Greet invest in their appearances as it relates to stylist, makeup artist, skin care. They're doing this because they know that your appearance and your image matters. When I share this info on social media, people get super upset like I shouldn't hide the authenticity, suggest that people should make an effort every single day. I'm literally doing my makeup in the time that it takes to record this video less than two or three minutes. No one is saying that you need to be dressed to the nine, but just making yourself look put together and polish will attract so many actual opportunities into your life in terms of brands approaching you, people wanting to work with you, employers seeing you and looking at your social and then possibly hiring you for different gigs. And it's fine if you don't want to take that on board, but I'm just sharing my experience and tips as a publisher, someone who witnesses first hand what real talent people who really want to take their brands to the next level do and sacrifice in order to make that happen. It really is a case of priorities and how much you want something and how important it is to you and if that's something you don't want to invest your time and energy into making yourself look and feel better, that's totally fine, but let's not pretend that the way that you dress, the way that you present yourself online and in real life doesn't impact the outcome of your experience and the way that people treat you. Because like I've said before, if I was in a bonnet talking about working with celebrities and red it events which I do, half of you would not take me or my content seriously. So what do you guys think? Do you think it's important to actually get dressed up as it relates to moisturizing your skin, maybe applying a light makeup and making sure that you're neat and dressed every time you get in front of the camera on social media. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. I'm a publicist and I regularly post content around PR and branding. So if you enjoyed this video, definitely like, share and follow and I'll see you in my next video.
