Here are the five things everybody should be doing to prepare for fame, recognition, or even just to increase their personal brand. And to share my credentials, I'm a publicist working in PR for over 20 years with high-profile individuals, brands, and celebrities. The first thing you need to be doing is owning your narrative. You need to be the one to decide what you want to be known for. What do you stand for and what won't you comment on? These are so important to establish early on because, as I said, if you don't decide, the internet and the media will decide for you. The second thing you need to be doing is Googling your name like a journalist. So yes, go in, search her name just like a journalist would. Clean up your old bios, delete captions that may be offensive. If it doesn't support your future brand, you need to archive it. It needs to go. And remember, digital footprints do matter. The third thing you need to be doing is building your credibility before you actually need to tap into it. And an easy way you can do that is by using social media, which is free. If you have expertise on a subject matter, share it. If you have a talent, show people what it is that you do. Authority equals attention, so you need to start implementing that now. The fourth thing you should be doing is deciding upon your aesthetic and your tone. Take branded elements into consideration like fonts, colors, lighting, and how you speak. It just gives off an air of professionalism that will attract the right people your way. And the fifth thing you need to be doing is practicing media readiness. If you can't explain who you are and what you do in 10 seconds or less, you're not ready for the press, you're not ready for the media, and you don't have a handle on your personal brand. I genuinely love to hear which of these tips you guys are already implementing and how it's working for you, so definitely chime in in the comments below. I'm a publicist and I regularly post content around PR and branding, so if you enjoyed this video, definitely like, share, and follow, and I'll see you in my next video.
