This is Emmy

This is Emmy. We found her wandering the streets of Baja. We found her wandering the streets of Baja with struggle written all over her body. Between her matted fur, the dirt, the fleas and ticks, and a badly injured leg, she was dragging around. It was clear life hadn't been kind to her. The first thing we did was take her to a local vet. He confirmed it was an old break that had been left untreated for a very long time. And being in a remote part of Baja, this clinic didn't have many resources. But the vet was able to give us some peace of mind that this wasn't something we needed to rush. We had time to make sure we got it right. So we focused on all the ways we could help her feel better right away. Food. She didn't have to search for. A safe place to sleep. For the first time in her life, Emmy didn't have to worry about surviving. I'm sure you know by now, we heal the dogs we rescue from the inside out. We heal their souls through nature and adventure. So although many people thought she wasn't capable because of her injury, Emmy quickly became one of the happiest pups on the beach. Are you having fun? Are you having fun? We spent a day adventuring together and letting her get comfortable with us and our pack. Then it was time for a much-needed grooming appointment. The only reason we knew it was Emmy was because she was still holding up that same injured leg and wearing that big, beautiful smile. Emmy had a long road to recovery ahead. But now she wasn't alone. She was safe. She was loved. And we would figure out the next steps together. Oh my gosh. I'm not kidding. When we picked her up, we could hardly believe it was the same dog. The only reason we knew it was Emmy was because she was still holding up that same injured leg and wearing that big, beautiful smile. Emmy had a long road to recovery ahead. But now she wasn't alone.
