I mean this with a lot of love, but it doesn't fucking matter. Doesn't matter how the thoughts feel, doesn't matter what the thoughts are. It's all the fucking same. Every time it's your OCD trying to get you to latch onto it, egging you on, trying to get you to do some type of compulsion because that's how the sick disease works. It tricks your mind and your emotions, giving you that anxiety, that stress. It tricks your brain and your thoughts by looping relentlessly. But it doesn't matter what thoughts come up or what emotions arise. You have to practice non-engagement, no matter what. Label the thought for what it is, a symptom of OCD, allow it to be there, but do not engage. You're not trying to get rid of them. But you don't want to try to solve it, analyze it, seek reassurance or avoid things because of it. None of it. You learn to coexist with it, but to take your attention off of it and back onto the present moment. But the relief and recovery is not instant. You have to continuously do this time after time, day after day, because you are quite literally rewiring your brain. Meaning, there might be ups and downs, you know, you might get caught up in rumination or compulsions. But that's okay. You just need to continue to get back on track. I know that it feels so real and so scary. And yeah, those emotions are real, but the meaning behind the emotions aren't. It's OCD, it's all a fucking lie. So you need to fake it till you make it. You need to stop giving a fuck, even though every bone in your body tells you you should. Because over time, if you can consistently do that, you actually start to believe it and you actually stop caring about the thoughts. You see, the goal was never to get rid of them. It was to change the relationship you had to them. It was to change the way that you perceive them. So I don't care what it is. I don't care what the thought is. I don't care how it makes you feel. Stop engaging.
