As soon as I finish vacuuming my floors, Ellie came running in to see me. And she brought a giant surprise. Hey guys, come with me to groom Ellie. Ellie is a two-year-old golden doodle and this morning before her groom, she decided to cool off in a giant mud puddle. But luckily, washing dogs is my job and I've gotten pretty good at it over the last few years. So Ellie is in good hands. Because all of that mud and dirt are just on the legs, I'm going to use a degreaser on her legs before I start the rest of the shampooing. This way, my regular deep cleaning shampoo can do a better job. Ellie is seriously the best girl for grooming. She's been coming to my salon ever since she was a puppy, so her owners made sure that she would be very used to it. She seems to love the bath and she has no problem with the blow dryer. I always hook her up with a happy hoodie just in case. And then as soon as I'm done with the blow dryer, I'm going to put her in a cage for a second so that I can mop up all the dirt off the floor so that she won't get dirty again when she gets off the table. This was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I got it clean enough for now. And then I'm going to move on to her nails and her paw pads. I definitely waited to do the nails until after the bath because of all that mud. And then I can go ahead and start her haircut. I'm using a four-and-a-half blade on her body and then I can clean up around her eyes and round up her head and her face. And it's time for her bandana. This is a reminder of her before. She was so dirty. And this is her after. She is looking so adorable. She is so happy to be able to run around all summer long. She was the bestest girl, so she can get a treat.
