Come with me to groom retriever named Benson. Benson is two years old and he comes in for a groom about every eight weeks. That being said, Benson is very used to his spa day and I think it's safe to say he likes everything about it. He sees the bath as a full body massage and he's gonna enjoy every minute of it. He always gets a blueberry facial. I'm washing him today in a deep cleaning shampoo and a de-shedding conditioner. Benson always puts his chin right on my glove. And I don't know if he's waiting for the rinse or if he just doesn't want me to stop rubbing. He seriously fell asleep a few times during this rinse. He is the best boy. Once his bath is all done, it's time to get him back on the table for the blow dryer. Of course, Benson always gets a happy hoodie in case he gets scared of the noise, which I don't think will be a problem since he's falling asleep the whole time. He didn't shed as much as he normally does today, but I'm still gonna give him a really good brush out after his blow dry. He is just full smiles. He's such a good boy and he definitely deserves one. Now, I'm going to shave out his paw pads and trim his feathers back to front. And then I'm going to clean up his grunt feet and his almond-shaped colons and his ears cleaned. He did have one really dirty ear, but I made sure to clean it really good. And he is looking so handsome. This is a reminder of his before and this is his after. It's crazy how much of a difference those sharp lines make. Finally, Benson is ready to get down and of course, he knows that he gets a treat after every groom. He was such a good boy and he definitely deserves one.
