OUR DEATH ROW MEAL HAS COME TO LONDON!!

Anyone who knows us knows that our death row meal would be Khao Soi. And the best restaurant is a place called Khao So-i in Chiang Mai in Thailand. But yesterday walking through London we noticed that Khao So-i actually have a London branch. So we're here for the second day it opens. And let's go and see whether it lives up to the same amazingness. This is it here noodles, nibbles and naughty cocktails. Khao So-i. Do you have a table for two please? Yeah, this way please. Oh my god, it's so cute in here and they managed to squeeze us in which we're really grateful for considering we turned up without a booking. So this is the menu here we've been sat on like the bench seating right next to the kitchen which is interesting. And it's so funny how many similarities there is already the same trays, the same spoons, the same chopstick holders and a very similar menu. The biggest difference obviously though is the price. In Chiang Mai it would be £3.20 per dish. I'll put on screen now how much you pay in Thailand. And this is the prices in London. £19.50 for a main ha ha ha that's kinda crazy. In the Chang Mai version they do bottomless drinks but that's not something they do here. There's also all of these drinks here. What are you gonna get? No, what are you gonna get? Yeah, I think I'm gonna get water. So I've got the tofu Khao Soi and you've got the chicken. And there was a couple of options for starters but we just thought we'd keep it simple. We'll have that. The staff here are very very very friendly as well, which is really nice and it's really nice. Sat here watching everything getting cooked. A very different experience than what we've had before. Thank you very much, thank you. Thank you. So this is Luke's chicken one and then this is my veggie one with tofu. So we've got the pickled greens, we've got the fried noodles. We've got extra cream, extra chilli, lime and then obviously the cow soy in the middle there. So for those of you don't know, Khao Soi is like a noodle curry and you can get it with whatever meat you want. Normally in Thailand even if you get it tofu, it's not necessarily vegetarian. But obviously in London that is definitely the case. It's just kinda nice knowing that I'm actually getting something vegetarian for probably the first time. Is it good? So good. So it's so mad how similar it looks to Thailand. It looks very similar to what you get in Changmai. Like the look of it, the plate, the whole atmosphere is very very similar. The staff are amazing, super super friendly. But it does feel really hectic in there. It's 12:00 on a Sunday and it was chocker and there was a like a lot of running around going on. It's definitely nowhere near as good as Changmai. But that's to be expected. And obviously three times the price. But much cheaper than flying to Changmai. So swings and roundabouts. Taste wise my tofu one was very different. I think in Changmai you get like crispy on the outside, very soft light in the middle tofu. That one wasn't like that. It was very dense and kind of heavy. If you have travelled Thailand, I think it's a lovely nostalgic place to go cause it's still very very very nice. And we did really enjoy the meal. And I would 100% go back on a less sensitive scenario. The Bill was £51 including tip and I've got a little doggy bag. Take mine away with me now. I will preface this by saying myself and Luke are quite hungover today cause we do up until the early hours of this morning partying. So potentially having cows for breakfast wasn't the best idea.
