Gel deodorant

Whenever I go to a store and I see those gel deodorant, I always wonder who is actually buying these because I've used one one time. It was available to me, so I tried it. And I think gel deodorant is the grossest thing ever. Like, the point of deodorant is kinda to make you smell better, but then to also keep you from sweating if it has antiperspirant. But putting gel on your armpits, it just feels weird. It feels sweaty and it's like gooey and you're walking around with that. If you put too much on and you're wearing a light color shirt, then it would have pit stains. I just don't understand why you would ever choose a gel deodorant over a normal stick deodorant. I can do a certain degree understand spray ons, but I also think that's kind of lazy and gross. But gel? I think it's supposed to be cooling, but I don't understand that. It just seems so gross and why people are buying these.
