Nobody wants to be sweating in their kitchens this summer, so welcome to no sweat summer slow cooker series. Today is a little bit different. We are gonna do some hot dogs in the slow cooker. They're gonna be like hot dog with some onions that you put over the top. Let's get started. The only disclaimer I this is one where you kind of need. It's not an all day slow cooker, but it is a let me throw this in the slow cooker in the afternoon while or while we go outside and play in the sprinkler and dinner will be ready at dinner time. First thing we're gonna slice up two large sweet onions. My onions are gonna go right from the cutting board to the bottom of the slow cooker. I'm just gonna kind of distribute them evenly along the bottom. Now I've got my hot dogs, this is a six pack. You could do whatever either six or eight pack. Open these up. Actually gonna leave them right in here and I'm just gonna go diagonal across the top and just score them. Easy peasy. These are gonna go on top of the onions like so. Now our sauce. Take my measuring cup. I'm gonna add one of Berkshire Lager. I'm not a beer gal, but I do like it in things, but I'm not gonna like drink one. If beer is not an option for you, a cup of beef broth. No worries. One cup of beer or beef broth. 1/3 cup of Italian dressing. Oh, you know what? We need to put butter. A couple pads of butter on top of the onions. Sneak these between the hot dogs and the onions. A couple tablespoons of Worcestershire. A tablespoon of Dijon. Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Couple tablespoons of ketchup. A tablespoon of brown sugar. Now if you wanna make these on the spicy side, you could add some Cajun seasoning or like Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning. Original blend. I'm gonna add a little bit. I'm also gonna add some paprika. We know I don't make anything without some sort of Kinder seasoning. I'm gonna add a little bit of Cowboy Butter. I'm gonna stir this up. There's our sauce. I'm gonna pour this over the dogs and look at that. Alright. We are gonna put this on low for three hours. You really can't do this one all day because though you don't want those hot dogs to like expand unless you like that sort of thing and you don't mind, then I say go for it. And we will be back. I want my. So I am gonna leave the top off of this, the last like half hour of cooking and let some of the liquid evaporate. I'll show you what they're looking like so far. Yum. So we are gonna plate up these hot dogs. What's great about this is you can add other toppings if you want, not just the onions. You could add some shredded pepper jack cheese. You could add some sweet and spicy jalapenos, some crunchy onions on top. Really get creative with your toppings. We just kept it simple. So I just put some of the onions on top of each of our hot dogs. And then I served it with a side of just some store bought potato salad. We're keeping it really simple. I have to say these hot dogs had so much flavor. You could really taste. You could taste all the seasonings. Let me know if you make these and happy no sweat summer.
