My first job post grad was in MBB management consulting, where I spent a transformative and memorable 3 years. Back then, I was pretty consistently stressed due to the nature of the work and some unlucky situations I got into. I was hesitant to talk about the negative aspects of the job. Partly because I didn’t want to seem like I couldn’t handle the pressure, but also because it was a desirable, high-status job—at least at the time. It all got better towards the end of my time, but boy was I in the trenches! No regrets starting my career in consulting, but I do wish I had seen this realistic side of the job when I was recruiting or first joined. 🫠 #consulting #career #postgrad #corporate #realityvsexpectations
