started investing at 16 years old and now that money makes up the bulk of my wealth. And I can comfortably say that this is now the best financial decision that I have ever made. But the reason most people my age haven't done the same isn't because they can't. It's because no one ever told them how simple it is to do. See when most people hear the word invest in, they picture some guy in a suit staring at a screen full of charts making a million pound decision. That puts them off even before they've started. And to be honest, I don't blame them. But here's what nobody tells you. You don't need stock. You don't need to pick the right stocks. You don't even need loads of money to do it. You just need to start something. I invested in something called an index fund. All it is is a big basket of the biggest companies in the world. Apple, Amazon, Google, all bundled into one single investment. So when the world's biggest companies make money, do I? So do I. This exact thing is what the world's greatest investor Warren Buffett tells all beginners to do to build long term wealth. And it's been working pretty well for me so far. I use a website called Vanguard. You just need to set up a stocks and shares ISA, which means every penny you make from it is completely tax-free up to now, 12k government. Once a month, I put in a set amount of money and that investing strategy, if you can even call it that, is called Dollar-Cost Averaging. That's investing in a nutshell. Because the magic isn't the investment itself. It's time. The earlier you start, the longer compound interest works in your favour. This is where your money makes money on top of the money you'd already made. Now, I am not a financial advisor. Everything I know I learned from books and YouTube videos. But the one thing every single one of them agreed on is start as early as possible. Because the most expensive mistake that you can make at 18 is isn't a bad investment. It's waiting too long.
