Spain's government has shocked everyone recently. Successful, and if that's successful, then maybe the UK needs to change their thoughts on immigration. So from the 16th of April to the 30th of June, the Spanish government opened a window to let undocumented migrants register without fear of being deported. They only had to prove that they lived in Spain before the 31st of December and that they didn't have a criminal record. Usually this process would take years, but they were fast-tracked to getting a one-year residency and working permit. During this window, 1.2 million people applied, which is double what the government expected. As you're aware, now it's July, the window has closed. And we get to see if it works. Because the aim for this was one to balance Spain's aging population, two, get more tax revenue, and three, less job shortages, which are the same problems the UK faces. But our policies tend to be in the complete other direction. So over the next year, it'll be really interesting to see which approach helps the economy more. But tell me if you predict Spain or the UK.
