"JUST RAISED $5M"
Imposter syndrome as a solo
consumer founder
not me lol I'm referring
to what other people say
90 Days to 10K MRR
Day 70 - $690
THE WEIRD PART
Startup culture makes it very easy
to feel like you're losing.
X will make you believe everyone is
"at $100K MRR."
That raising $5M pre-seed is easy an
that everyone is doing it.
And naturally
you start measuring your real life
against these false narratives.
THE YC EFFECT
We love talking about the YC companies
doing >$100K MRR.
And those companies are impressive.
But they're not the whole batch.
They're the highlight reel.
I've spoken to YC founders who raised
millions and are currently doing less MRR
post-batch than Treasury is today.
Startups are supposed to be hard.
Turns out we're doing much better than I
thought.
CONSUMER IS DIFFERENT
Consumer is hard
because the product has to earn its place
in someone's actual life.
It's not just about whether your product
does X. People care if it feels easy.
If it earns trust. If it looks nice.
The hardest companies to build
are often the ones people use every day.
And those are the ones
that usually transform the world.
CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE
Forgetting the numbers for a second, it's
important to remember the real world
impact of what I'm building.
Treasury has helped people save for
vacations.
Pay for college tuition.
Prepare for weddings.
Find money in lives
that already felt stretched.
When I zoom out, that is not small.
That is the whole point.
PERSPECTIVE
I can keep comparing my real business
to what I'm seeing go viral on X.
Or I can trust what's in front of me.

Real users.
Real problems.
Real progress.
The noise makes you feel behind.
But the only important thing is that users
love what you're building.
That's the only signal that matters.
