When I quit my job at Microsoft to go all-in on my startup, I publicly said I wasn't raising VC funding. Well, I've changed my mind, but only on one condition. If I get into YC, otherwise I'll keep on bootstrapping and here's why. Up until this point, funding hasn't made sense for Treasury. I didn't need capital to build a product. I could do it myself and I also built my own distribution. And any money I did need, I invested my own. But Treasury is ready for a different kind of help now. The product is live, people are paying and we're starting to understand how to attract customers. The question is no longer can I build this? Do people want it? And also, how quickly can we scale this up? YC is one of the only things that can meaningfully change that right now. YC compresses months of fundraising, brings better investors to the table, helps us recruit better early talent and gives Treasury credibility and distribution that is worth way more than the money they invest. That's the kind of multiplier effect that's worth it for us. So, I'm applying to the next YC batch and I'm doing the entire thing in public. I'll share my application, let you review my answers and we'll find out together whether we get in. You'll see the real process as it happens. And I've decided that if we don't get in, I'm going to keep bootstrapping for at least another year. So that's the plan. We're applying to YC and you guys are my 25,000 other co-founders and we'll find out together if we get in or not. So stay tuned and make sure you follow.
