I am violently allergic to being broke. So here's how I've completely avoided having any allergic reactions over the past 5 years. I had to absolutely shatter any scarcity mindset. And that means the belief that anything expensive is bad and cheap it's good. Most of the time, without ever asking what is going to create more long-term value for you. More times than not, you buy the cheap things and pat yourself on the back for saving money, but then you have to replace it three times and you probably should have just invested in the more expensive thing and bought it one time. This one's gonna sound a little crazy, but when I see a big house or a nice car, even if I never aspire to have that thing, I never let myself sit in the emotion of awe and separate myself and say, wow, that's so crazy. I could never achieve that. I appreciate looking at the thing while sitting in the emotion that it could be mine if I wanted it. Then practically, I made a decision in my early 20s that I was not gonna focus on saving pennies, rather making more money. Yes, I understand that time in the market is extremely important, but investing $5 here and $10 here wasn't doing it for me instead. I decided to ditch the 9 to 5 path, six months learning a high value skill, which then allowed me to have cash flow where I was able to invest 10x instead of the pennies that I was trying to originally. Not working a traditional job also meant that I was getting paid for the problems that I was solving and not for the time that I spent doing work. Okay, and now for a quick flash round. Self explanatory. I create more than I consume. I take messy action. I'm a naive doer. I do not overthink things. I lean into risk, test things out. If it doesn't work, I move on. I am deliberately ignorant. I make sure that my algorithms feed my mind with abundance. I unfollow any doomers and I will block you in the comments if you're negative. And in the same vein, I stopped taking advice from people who maybe have good intentions, but didn't have the life I wanted. What are some things you guys do to avoid allergic reactions? Let me know in the comments.
