And instead of the usual LinkedIn post, he hit record and broke down exactly how he built it. We're talking 2,000 proxy servers across 13 AWS regions, a custom control plane he open sourced called Sovereign, and an authentication system he wrote himself in Rust, all behind a self-service tool so teams could spin up load balancers without filing a single ticket. The video hit 2 million views in days on YouTube. But Atlassian cut him as part of a so-called AI pivot while posting record profits. Vassilios uses AI for debugging code, code search and translating between languages. But he says the dangerous part is outsourcing your thinking to it. Because AI can help you build fast, but it can't help you maintain what breaks two years later when things get complicated.
