Weekend trip ideas for women who need to disappear for 72 hours. This time, I packed the car and headed to Wilmington, NC, about 3.5 hours from Charlotte. Stayed at a beautiful waterfront condo that I booked on Airbnb. Had slow mornings, coffee runs, beach days, fishing, good food, and yall it was EVERYTHING. My biggest travel tip? Travel during the week whenever you can. It's usually less crowded, easier on your wallet, and lets you experience a city at a much slower pace. I saw people doing Tiki boat rides, boat rides, all of the things. The closest beach was Wrightsville Beach. Do y'all see this water? And about a six minute walk to one of my favorite coffee shops in Wilmington, Hidden Grounds. Their backyard oasis is unmatched. We went fishing at Sutton Lake, took walks downtown and had some really good food out there too. I'll get into that soon, but here's the thing. You don't always have to go across the country or across the ocean. Sometimes you can't even afford to do that, especially now. But what can you afford? Look at your schedule, look at your budget. Book something. And like I always say, it's not always the most popular city in the world. Sometimes the best experiences are right in your backyard.
