5 things I don't buy after learning how money works. First one is buying a new car. You drive off the lot, it immediately starts losing value. Rather invest that money and let it grow. Second thing is buying things just to impress people. Stuff like clothes, buying clothes every now and then. Literally don't even buy clothes no more. I spend my money wisely on good quality clothes. Third is anything that you really don't need. If I'm buying it on the idea that this is going to make me look cool, probably don't need it. Fourth thing is monthly subscriptions I barely use. $10 here, $15 there, doesn't seem like much, but it can literally add up. And the last thing is lifestyle upgrades every time I make more money. Just because I got a raise doesn't mean I need to buy a newer truck, taking an expensive vacation. I'd rather increase my investments first. Now I'm not saying you can't buy nice things. I still spend a lot of money on experiences and the things that I love to do. Make sure that my money's actually buying me freedom first. And the materialistic stuff, it's just stuff.
