Thoroughout this journey, I’ve always wanted to be open and honest about everything, including money. Some people will see these numbers and think I’m bragging. Some will see it with envious eyes. Some (and I’m hoping most) will see it for what it is - me being fully transparent of what my hard work over these last four months has equated to. But not only that, these numbers wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for you guys following me, supporting me and shouting from the rooftops about Daughter of the Night. And for that, you have no idea how grateful I am for every single one of you. These are numbers I could only have dreamt of for total sales, let alone pre-launch numbers. My mind is truly blown 🤯 I’ve spent £8.8k so far on making this crazy-ass dream a reality, and I know that isn’t profit (it’s likely not even a small amount of it), but just knowing that this is only the start of my journey, fills me with such hope. I also hope that if you’re a writer who aspires to self-publish, that you know it’s entirely possible with hard work, determination, (the little help of a loan and selling some items), and a crazy dream…you can make it happen too. It's ten pm on pre-launch day. And me being me, you know, the ex financial analyst in me is like, stats? What are the stats for pre orders? Um, so I through them with you cause no one and I wanted to get a the numbers were before launch day. So excuse the state of me, I'm in my. My nightie, old lady and I've got no, so they're hanging. Okay, um, to run through and just work gross sales are. That's no royalty, nothing. It's just pure looking at the numbers of the quantity times by the retail price. So let's go through it together. I have also announced over my newsletter, special editions are available to those in the veil of shadows. And so in already sold 17, which is giving me a gross profit of 712. And hardback numbers, I'm not sure if they're correct because Ingram has, but I'm gonna I've got. Paperbacks, I'm showing 67 orders and that's paperbacks - £870.33. Eight hundred and seventy pounds, thirty three pence. Hardbacks, hundred and thirty five. And 2399 is 3 thousand two hardbacks - £3,238.65. Eight pounds. 65. Ebooks are 193 at 4.99. Ebooks - £763.07. Is £763.7. Now my audiobook is only available on Audible, it early. I've had 135 orders. That's sold them. So that's technically, but, you know, at 1899. I don't dictate that price. Audio - £2,563.65. £2,563.65. And I've also had seven pre-event that I'm going to tomorrow. And that is seven at 1299. Event - £90.63. Is £90.63. So let's total it up for pre-launch. Seven thousand four hundred and seventy five pounds and twenty six pence. I had no idea starting self-publishing that this would be an option. A lot of money. Obviously, I'm not of that. But to say that tonight isn't even and that's the sales, gross sales. Sales, gross sales. I can't thank you all enough. Truly, this is what four months hard work has been for. This is why writers do what we do. We want to make money on the enjoy doing. Bringing other people joy with our words. And so to see that number the day before launch has just... I just can't put it into words.
