There's nothing sweeter. There is nothing sweeter than proving you know, nothing that fuels me more than proving. More than proving who are waiting fail with launching my debut novel, Daughter of the Night. Wrong. So, uh, yeah, of July. Uh, dark gothic fantasy, you know, shadow mummy vibes. Girl possessed by the goddess of nightmares. Very dark. Cool stuff. Uh, and I had people make some subtle videos, some subtle videos and some not so subtle videos about me, comparing me to another indie author who grow substantial following, like over 100 than me. Um, but then whose debut novel came out and she got bad reviews and ends up coming off socials. For that person so much. But people were waiting for me the same route. Can imagine how smug I feel right now. When, in its opening weekend, Daughter of the Night reached over 711 orders across all formats, hardback, paperback, ebook, audiobook, special edition, you name it. And we got over 11k of gross sales. I feel very bloody smug. But not only that, cause, you know, sales, they're important, but what's important for me is my writing style is different. You know, writing with synesthesia. Your senses, it gives a very different reading experience. Had no idea how that was against other books. Because, you know, agents didn't like was querying. And it's just reading style than what's out there. It's not commercial, shall we say. Was very, very nervous. I've got over 300 and something reviews, and a lot four and five stars. It just blows my mind. But more than that, it fuels me even more to continue pushing, really, really hard on other works to give my readers what they are enjoying, but also to prove those people wrong. So this is a video for those who are trying or maybe you've already got books out, but people are waiting for you or they don't achieve something, you that you shouldn't be doing something. Have a backlist of books, be taking risks with your debut novel. Please, please, go and work your butt off and smash it. Go and prove them wrong? Go books out and prove them wrong. Because I promise you, nothing tastes sweeter than showing people what you are capable of. Underestimate you. And that you can do so you think you can.
