NOW, I RECEIVED 1,000 ARC APPLICATIONS IN SEVEN DAYS. I HAD TO CLOSE MY APPLICATIONS TWO WEEKS EARLY BECAUSE I WAS SURPRISED BY THE AMOUNT OF INUNDATIONS I GOT. MUTCH TO PEOPLE'S ANNOYANCE THAT THAT HAPPENED. I COULDN'T KEEP UP WITH DEMAND. I WANT TO SHARE WHAT I DID TO TRY AND GET THOSE NUMBERS, BECAUSE I'VE HAD THIS QUESTION QUITE A BIT, SO I'D SHARE IT. SO MONTHS AND MONTHS BEFORE I WAS SHARING SNIPPETS OF THE WORLD, SNIPPETS OF MY WRITING, THE PROCESS OF HOW I WRITE WITH SYNESTHESIA, YOU KNOW, THE WRITING WITH YOUR SENSES. AND I DID AND MONTHS AND MONTHS, SHARING WHATEVER GRAPHICS I COULD SO THAT HOPEFULLY I WAS GAINING THE READERS THAT IN THAT BOOK. AND SO I PUT A GOOGLE FORM TOGETHER. IT'S FREE. IT'S EASY TO THEN DOWNLOAD THE DATA INTO A MANIPULATE IT IN EXCEL, I WANTED. I DIdn't THINK I THAT MANY. AND I WAS TOLD ONLY HAVE AROUND 200 ARC READERS. AND I WAS AN INDIE AUTHOR. WHATEVER I WANT. AND MY THOUGHT, AN EX FINANCIAL ANALYST WAS, WELL, SURELY IF HIGH CONVERSION RATE OF PEOPLE THAT VERSUS PEOPLE THAT LEAVING A REVIEW. MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE THAT I COULD PROBABLY MANAGE. SO I CHOSE 640 OUT OF THAT 1,000. BUT MONTHS AND MONTHS OF WORK WENT IN TO, UPON RELEASING, ANNOUNCING THAT THEY WERE GONNA BE RELEASED, INTO THE WORLD. NOW, I LINKED IT WITH MY NEWSLETTER. PEOPLE INTO MY NEWSLETTER, I INCENTIVISE THEM TO SAY, TO GET AN ARC APPLICATION, BE WITHIN THE NEWSLETTER. SO THAT DROVE UP THE, UM, THE SUBSCRIBERS FOR MY SUBSTACK NEWSLETTER. AND OBVIOUSLY WHEN YOU'RE IN THERE, GETTING TREATED. YOU KNOW, IT'S ONE DONE THING. YOU ARE CONSTANTLY GETTING BENEFITS FROM GIVING ME YOUR EMAIL. AND I WILL BE DOING ANOTHER VIDEO ON WHAT GET THE NEWSLETTER UP. BUT THIS IS PURELY AROUND ARC NUMBERS. LOT OF WORK GOING INTO IT. WORK SHARING INSIDE THE BOOK MY WRITING STYLE. This is for how to get a lot of ARC numbers. My writers who are probably wanting at ARC applications. That's advanced reader copies, people who will book before anyone else does. Now, I received 1,000 ARC applications in seven days. I had to close my applications two weeks early because I was surprised by the amount of inundations I got. Much to people's annoyance that that happened. I couldn't keep up with demand. I want to share what I did to try and get those numbers, because I've had this question quite a bit, so I'd share it. So months and months before I was sharing snippets of the world, snippets of my writing, the process of how I write with synesthesia, you know, the writing with your senses. And I did and months and months, sharing whatever graphics I could so that hopefully I was gaining the readers that in that book. And so I put a Google form together. It's free. It's easy to then download the data into a manipulate it in Excel, I wanted. I didn't think I that many. And I was told only have around 200 ARC readers. And I was an indie author. Whatever I want. And my thought, an ex-financial analyst was, well, surely if high conversion rate of people that versus people that leaving a review. Many people as possible that I could probably manage. So I chose 640 out of that 1,000. But months and months of work went into, upon releasing, announcing that they were gonna be released, into the world. Now, I linked it with my newsletter. People into my newsletter, I incentivise them to say, to get an ARC application, be within the newsletter. So that drove up the, um, the subscribers for my Substack newsletter. And obviously when you're in there, getting treated. You know, it's one done thing. You are constantly getting benefits from giving me your email. And I will be doing another video on what get the newsletter up. But this is purely around ARC numbers. Lot of work going into it. Work sharing inside the book, my writing style. You can with your own words, uh, you know, sharing snippets you're comfortable sharing and visuals, anything that gives context of your book and what you're working with.
