OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Work and as somebody who lives inside ChatGPT and Codex every day, this is the update honestly I have been waiting for. My favorite part is that ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex now all live inside the same ChatGPT desktop app. So instead of switching between different tools, ChatGPT can now take on a much bigger part in my workflow through ChatGPT Work while Codex still remains the experience built for software development. So now you're wondering what this actually means for you? Imagine your manager asks you to prepare Monday's business review. ChatGPT is already useful throughout the process for summarizing last week's report, explaining why revenue changed, or helping you write the executive summary. ChatGPT Work expands that into a connected end-to-end workflow. Let me explain. You simply say prepare Monday's business review, so instead of you manually searching Slack, preparing numbers from Drive, checking your calendar, building the slides and writing the summary, ChatGPT Work brings that context together, creates a plan and builds a first version for you to review. ChatGPT Work is powered by GPT 5.6 which helps it understand the broader goal, reasons across relevant content, plan the work and build a strong first version so you can actually refine and review. Okay but what about Codex? Not every task ends with a document or a presentation. If you need to build software like dashboards, an internal tool or production code, that's where Codex comes in. And I'm so excited to finally share that ChatGPT Work is available today in ChatGPT on web and mobile for Pro, Enterprise, and EDU plus and business rolling out over the next few days. In the ChatGPT desktop app, Chat, Work and Codex are available on every plan including free and is available globally to download on Windows and Mac. Have you tried ChatGPT Work yet? What was the first task that you asked it to do? And if you haven't tried it yet, you can download the ChatGPT desktop app using this link.
