niche internet inside a keychain NFC (Near Field Communication) NFC tags have been trending lately and people have built some pretty cool stuff with them just by buying a sticker get an NFC sticker! and downloading an app then tap "write" and scan the NFC sticker the digital realm with the physical one you can have a portfolio, a business card, a music player how to make a mini cd keychain all in a keychain so how does it work hi! i'm Sage i'm an electrical engineer and i like explaining cool tech things each NFC tag has a microchip Antenna IC/Chip and a tiny tiny antenna inside it looking at antennas that are this big but they can be super small when you bring a phone close to the tag the phone emits a small amount of energy which is picked up by the antenna and then converted to electricity and this electricity powers on the microchip inside the tag causing it to release its stored data this is why NFC tags don't need batteries: they're powered by your phone NFC tags are a really easy way to add flavor to your creative projects if you wanna learn more check out these resources which I find super super helpful I make a lot of engineering inspired content so if you like this please follow for more if not thanks for watching and see you next time
