Your credit score will determine how you get an Apartment! Upfront moving costs when getting in an apartment is heavily dependent upon your credit score. And I'm actually gonna be completely honest. I don't necessarily like that because what happens is most landlords and most apartment complexes, they have a generated system. In the system, it's set up to automatically decline your application if you fall within a certain credit score range. There's also room for other factors to kind of help gauge the decision. Going through having a low credit score, but being able to prove with conditions, maybe they have a higher deposit, maybe they have a higher deposit plus first and last month's rent upfront. That's how people end up having to pay sometimes $4,000 for just the upfront moving costs. And I'll be honest and tell you, I don't necessarily like that because I genuinely believe it's hard to tell a lot about a person based off the score itself. If you really want to know a person's relationship with their credit, you really gotta assess their credit profile. I went to school, I have several degrees. I am in $100,000 worth of student loan debt. Just because I have student loans doesn't mean life goes on. Life still goes on. Still have to have gas in the car. Still have to live. Still have to pay rent. You're not wiping out $100,000 worth of student loan debt, no matter how much money you're paying towards them. That's why even though I work in the financial side of real estate, when I say I am passionate about putting people on game apartment complexes, do you know how hard it is to secure housing?
