Two years ago I signed a lease to live completely alone. And this month I'm signing on for year three! Everyone warned me I'd feel isolated and lonely. Honestly, I could not have found the opposite to be more true. Two years in and there hasn't been a single day I wish I hadn't. I think part of being an extroverted introvert, which might be the best personality type for living alone. I choose when the time is all mine. Take Sunday for example. I was out on the lake with my friends for a couple hours and in the evening I was home doing chores, getting ready for the work week, resetting the way I actually reset with zero outside noise or roommates. I needed both and I got both. Because nobody lives in my schedule. So if you've had the feeling and wanted to live alone, trust yourself. Because when I'm older and married, and in a full house, I'm going to look back at my mid-20s and be so grateful I gave myself this time to learn who I am.
