Having your phone stolen in Europe SUCKS… and trust me you dont want to go thru this. Here’s 5 tips the locals taught me so it’ll never happen again. 1. Simple as putting a finger on the top of your phone. This prevents thieves from sliding it out of your grip when you’re distracted by the screen. 2. Never have your phone sitting on a table outside anywhere. No brainer, but people forget because it’s such a common part of American life 3. Get a tether. This keeps it connected to your body. Literally everyone has one. (Same with a cross body bag) 4. Don’t walk with your phone in your hand on the same side as the traffic is moving. Again… bikers. 5. Pro tip. Travel with a second phone if you can. This will save you hours of headache -and cash- when you’re scrambling IF these precautions fail and it happens to you. Bonus tip for riding the metro: A lot of thieves wait for the MOMENT before the door is closing to make a move. Be on high alert if sitting by a door. At the end of the day thieves are constantly scanning for a) distracted people and b) easy targets. Don’t fall into either of these categories.
