Welcome back for another part of luxury for less at the Dollar Tree. I'm a 25-year-old interior designer who's also a first-time homeowner. Today, I'm taking everybody's advice from my last video and trying out a stained wood technique. I grabbed this wood board from the craft section, also these craft cubes. And I'm planning to glue these to the bottom of the board to give it a little height to just elevate that look a little bit. In order to create the wood stain, I'm using this brown acrylic paint and mixing it with a little bit of water to thin it out. And I guess you don't have to do it this way, but this is how wood stain is applied. So I grabbed an old dish towel and dipped it into my stain and rubbed it on going with the wood grain. The first coat was genuinely terrifying because I had no clue how thick or dark this was going to be. So you can tell when I did the second coat, I went much darker. You do have to make sure that you get all of the sides and the small squares as well. This time was the most time consuming. I honestly think it's turning out really cute and it's going to make a great base for the rest of the styling. I cannot wait to put everything together on my countertop tomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow with the final reveal. It literally turned out so cute. Follow for more luxury for less. Bye.
