You guys love when I talk about personal style and how it relates to the feminine archetypes. So I want to kick off a new mini series here where I talk about how to dress for your archetype based on the season. So I'm going to use some examples from my favorite movies and TV shows to talk about how to dress for the summer as the Lover. Let's get into it, starting with the most bold of the three options we're going to talk about today, and that is to go full blown, old school, screen siren. The movie Under the Tuscan Sun is a cult classic, but not enough people talk about the looks that Katherine is pulling in this movie. If your personal style already leans a bit old money or retro, this is a fantastic option. And if you are into that style of dressing and you have a big event coming up this summer, like a wedding or some kind of party, look no further than this bond girl from the James Bond movie Casino Royale. Her name is Solange Dimitrios. I mean, but if that kind of full blown sex appeal is too much for you, the next option I want to suggest is what I call a more casual or undone sensuality, aka letting maybe one or two things work for you. Exhibit A of what I'm talking about is the character Foxy Brown, who is played by, I believe, Pam Grier. If that's still a little bit too much skin for you, may I present to you Jane Smith from the opening scene in the movie Mr and Mrs Smith. I love this outfit. This is one of my top 10 favorite movie outfits of all time. I have desperately tried to recreate this look for years. It's just effortless sensuality. That's what we're going for. Someone who is a bit more classic, but still a little bit sensual as the character Marge from the movie The Talented Mr Ripley. Now, I have not seen You, Me & Tuscany yet, but all of the pictures I have seen of Halle Bailey's character, the outfits are just so cute and they're exactly what I'm talking about. She's just got, you know, a little chest flirting, a little leg. Like it's sexy, but it's not in your face. Look to Allie from The Notebook. She has a lot of more modest, but still flirty, effortless looks that skew more retro for obvious reasons. It's not set in the present day. The final style option I want to present to you is what I call more is more. The Lover's version of more is more is just like she enjoys adorning herself. She's got a fabulous outfit, but she's going to add big jewelry. She's going to add on a flower hair clip. Of course, Gabrielle Solis from Desperate Housewives is a fantastic example of what I'm talking about. She is a big accessorizer. But so is Samantha Jones from Sex & the City. Do you see what I mean by these girls are doing more is more? Lovers look really fantastic when they are a feast for the eyes. There's a lot of details that catch your eye. Like she's wearing a gingham two piece, but also, I'm pretty sure those are heart sunglasses.
