Mechanics... what would you do if you're halfway through a seized harmonic balancer repair and the customer suddenly tried to act like we never talked price I walked away. What should have been a simple repair turned into an absolute nightmare. The harmonic balancer wouldn't move. I tried everything I safely could. The penetrant oil didn't help. Every minute that passed the job became harder, not easier. Sweat was pouring. My tools were scattered everywhere and I was still fighting the same part. Then the customer looked at the engine and said "Is this taking longer than expected? Can you lower the price?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was fighting one of the most stubborn harmonic balancers I've ever seen, using every tool and trick I know. And now I'm being asked to charge less because the job got harder. I honestly thought they were kidding. I'm putting in more labor, using more tools, taking more risks, and you think I should charge less? Mechanics tell me if I'm wrong. Once a customer starts negotiating after you've already started the job, are you finishing the repair or walking away? Comment down below
