This is what’s been happening since my 2nd generation of caterpillars started hatching…we have our first chrysalises! I never expected my 11 initial caterpillars to morph into chrysalises, then butterflies, then mate, lay hundreds of blue fairy eggs…and then have those eggs hatch into what felt like 1000 tiny caterpillars…and I mean REALLY TINY!! But now, I guess I’m running a full-blown butterfly maternity ward, and I’m just waiting for the 2nd generation of chrysalises to finally HATCH! And might I add, the caterpillars and chrysalises are almost twice as small as our initial ones! So I wonder if the actual butterflies will also hatch very small! Well, we’re about to find out in just a few days! But seriously, who agrees that the transformation of a painted lady butterfly is INSANELY AWESOME?!
