your tech interviewer knows you're cheating

This is what your interviewer sees when you try to cheat on a tech interview. So here I am giving an interview on HackerRank and did you know that your interviewer has this little view called suspicious signals. So here's where HackerRank tracks any suspicious activity from the candidate. And we can see a lot here. Like here I can even see when the candidate resized their window when they were out of interview, so if they tabbed or opened another window and even that they copy and pasted some code. Please don't copy and paste on an interview. It's super duper obvious. I don't know why anyone would try that. I can also even see details like how many monitors they have connected, right? Before an interview, usually they don't let you have multiple monitors. Here I can see that this candidate has two monitors connected. Maybe knowing this will make you think twice about cheating. I can understand how cheating seems attractive. I think we can all agree that LeetCode isn't the best signal of someone's engineering skill. But even if you think that tech interviews are unfair, if you actually want a shot at landing the job, you're better off interviewing honestly. As you can see, you won't fool anyone by cheating. The craziest part is, when you're caught cheating, your interviewer won't even call you out for it. Most companies have a policy where they won't openly accuse a candidate of cheating for legal reasons. Instead they'll just quietly reject your application and put you on a ban-list for years or even permanently. So that means if you're caught cheating in your Google or Amazon interview, you could be auto-rejected for the next decade. I don't know about you, but I'd rather just embarrass myself in the interview the old-fashioned way and at least get the chance to try again next year. There's also a ton of AI cheating tools out there that claim to be undetectable. Next video I'm going to test them out so you don't have to.
